WA4-Final Draft

                                                                                                February 1st, 2009

Dear President Obama,

As you begin your career, I wish you the best of luck (your going to need it).  I hope that these next four years and maybe even four more after them go well.  I believe that the best government for the coming years would focus on healthcare, education, and the war on Iraq/Terror.  I hope you can listen to my thoughts and perhaps act on them

Please work to make this nation a healthier place.  This nation needs a way to give equal healthcare to all, but to not compromise the quality of the care.  I believe that the best way of keeping people healthy is to take measures to prevent health problems.  This means better education about nutrition, making wages high enough that people can afford to eat healthy, and in some way making fast food restaurants healthier.  My generation is plagued with obesity and I hope that you can change that.  This also means researching ways of preventing and even curing cancers and other deadly diseases.  While it may seem to cost more in the beginning, in the long run it is much less expensive.  We have made decisions the last eight years through fear and short sightedness and I hope we will not make the repeat those mistakes when it comes to healthcare.

Education is also a very important part of this country.  Please keep in mind that the best way to ensure a good future for this country is to make everyone have the ability to get a good education.  I ask you to remember where you came from, and to never let the dream that anyone who works hard can achieve anything, die.  I implore you to change the way that this country educates people.  I think that instead of schools stressing SOL excellence, life skills should be taught.  This is important because the whole purpose of education is to prepare people for real world jobs and situations

I also hope that you will end this war in Iraq.  It disgusts me that we have not left for the reason that America must win.  I think the best way to end the war, and to prevent future wars, is to have a strong foreign policy. We as a country have become too much of a control freak.  Instead of putting our resources into creating a democracy in a country that will probably end up having a civil war, we need to help stop the genocide in Darfur and other atrocities being committed around the world.  More than 400,000 civilians have been killed because of the Darfur genocide.  Also do not forget that this nation has 10 trillion dollars worth of debt because of the war that we were practically forced into.

I hope that you can do the best job this nation has ever seen.  In these tough times, the most important is to have a president like you; calm, collected, and intelligent.  Do not forget that.  I hope with your leadership, this country can become the amazing dream that everyone has always wished it were.  Good luck, and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

WA4-2nd Draft

           Dear President Obama,

As you begin your career, I wish you the best of luck (your going to need it).  I hope that these next four years and maybe even four more after them go well.  I believe that the best government for the coming years would focus on healthcare, education, and the war on Iraq/Terror.  I hope you can listen to my thoughts and perhaps act on them

Please work to make this nation a healthier place.  This nation needs a way to give equal healthcare to all, but to not compromise the quality of the care.  I remind you also that the best way of keeping people healthy is to take measures to prevent health problems.  This means better education about nutrition, making wages high enough that people can afford to eat healthy, and forcing fast food restaurants to offer healthier choices on their menus.

I also hope that you will end this war in Iraq.  It disgusts me that we have not left for the reason that America must win.  I think the best way to end the war, and to prevent future wars, is to have a strong foreign policy.  Communication is a vital part of peace.  We as a country have become too much of a control freak.  Instead of putting our resources into creating a democracy in a country that will probably end up having a civil war, we need to help stop the genocide in Darfur and other atrocities being committed around the world .  More than 400,000 civilians have been killed because of the Darfur genocide.  Also do not forget that this nation has 10 trillion dollars worth of debt because of the war that we were practically forced into.

WA4-1st draft

Dear President Obama,

As you begin your career, I wish you the best of luck (your going to need it).  I hope that these next four years and maybe even four more after them go well.  I believe that the best government for the coming years would focus on healthcare, education, and the war on Iraq/Terror.  While you may not agree with me, I hope you can listen to my opinion and think about what I am saying.

Please work to make this nation a healthier place.  This nation needs a way to give equal healthcare to all, but to not compromise the quality of the care.  I remind you also that the best way of keeping people healthy is to take measures to prevent health problems.  This means better education about nutrition, making wages high enough that people can afford to eat healthy, and making fast food restaurants encourage healthier eating habits.  This also means researching ways of preventing and even curing cancers and other deadly diseases.  While it may seem to cost more in the beginning, in the long run it is much less expensive.  We have made decisions the last eight years through fear and short sightedness and I pray we don’t make the same mistake.

Education is also a very important part of this country.  Please keep in mind that the best way to ensure a good future for this country is to make everyone have the ability to get a good education.  I ask you to remember where you came from, and to never let the dream that anyone who works hard can achieve anything die.  I implore you to change the way that this country educates people.  I think that instead of schools stressing SOL excellence, life skills should be taught.

I also hope that you will end this war in Iraq.  It disgusts me that we have not left for the sole reason that America must win.  I think the best way to end the war, and to prevent future wars, is to have a strong foreign policy.  We as a country have become too much of a control freak.  Instead of putting our resources into creating a democracy in a country that will probably end up having a civil war, we need to help stop the genocide in Darfur.  More than 400,000 civilians have been killed because of the Darfur genocide.  Also do not forget that this nation has 10 trillion dollars worth of debt because of the war that we were practically forced into.

I hope that you can de the best job this nation has ever seen.  In these tough times, the most important is to have a president like you; calm, collected, and intelligent.  I have a lot of faith in your abilities.  I hope with your leadership, this country can become the amazing dream that everyone has always wished it were.  Good luck, and thank you for your time,
